Chinese Ink Paintings

Beautiful Chinese Ink Paintings

I always found Chinese traditional painting very beautiful. The combination of brush technique, ink and water to create fine lines and tones requires quality skills. During the days before camera was invented painting was like a form of photography, painting what one sees.

By combining both traditional and modern, Chinese artist Dong Honh-Oai (1929-2004) was able to create a series of amazing photographs that look like Chinese traditional paintings. A style known as pictorialism. His style of photographic art (composition, texture, tone, colour) work really fools the mind into thinking you are looking at a delicate Chinese ink painting. Amazing and truly inspiring!
