Illustrated 3D gifs

These awesome 3D animated gifs by artist Dain Fagerholm simulate 3D images by quickly alternating stereoscopic perspectives.

Gif files are hugely popular on the internet and usually they are made with just using a few frames of a  film/video (Normally with the words LOLZ somewhere in it). But it’s great to start seeing something fresh. People are starting to use the format as an art form… I have no doubt that soon there will be exhibitions showing off this old/new art form.

This also reminded me of another photographic use of gifs I saw last year (You can view that at the bottom of this post).
